To alleviate the situation, trades of new hope, a local non government organization, in collaboration with designs for hope, has initiated a water project worth ugx 125 million. laban biryomumeisho, the director of trades of new hope, stated that they recognized the water scarcity issue affecting these communities and felt compelled to intervene.
Kcb Bank Uganda Commissions A Ugx 30 Million Water Harvesting Project Government of uganda on thursday launched the construction of ugx 9.8 billion solar powered water supply in rubanda west in rubanda district and bukimbiri in kisoro districts. the ugx 9.8bn project is funded by government of uganda with support from exim bank of india and implemented by rural water supply and sanitation department under ministry of water and environment. Last week, the country’s rural water supply and sanitation department launched the construction of a $2.5 million solar water supply in rubanda west. the project is expected to provide clean water to around 44,000 people covering 36 villages. administrators told local media that the region has been suffering from chronic water shortages. The project aims to address the prevailing water distribution challenges in the gkma, which have limited the utilization of the katosi water treatment plant’s capacity. the plant, which was commissioned in december 2022, has a capacity to supply up to 160 million liters of water per day, but only 52% of this capacity is currently being utilized due to insufficient water distribution capacity.
