Robert Atkins Art Gi Joe Snake Eyes 17 Cover I Cleaning up debris in the background, crowd scenes in the cafeteria, in photos with bbq hanging on the wall, even in the crowd on the cover of gi joe v2. #6, he's shown up completely under the radar. i brought this up with chuck dixon last year at megacon and he seemed to really like the idea of using this character as a go to guy for the joe team. Here is the final combined inked covers for gi joe, cobra and snake eyes #17 for idw publishing. these are out now at your local stores or online retailers. i believe my cover for each book was the variant, but shouldnt be too hard to find. i'll post the colors by simon gough shortly. i post more about it here on my blog.
Snake Eyes Gi Joe Comic Here is part 2, i'll show the combined image soon. i believe this cover was for the cobra issue. i did a combined cover for gi joe, cobra, and snake eyes that would be split for each book. i'll post the snake eyes cover next. you can check out my commentary on the process and challenges of doing a cover like this here on my blog!. I happened to have had this one, and snake eyes was prominent in the issue, so it worked out great. that's actually happened 4 times over the years i worked on gi joe. fun stuff! these aren't the colors that were used on the published cover, so i thought i show them. colors again by sean ellery! i just realized too that i'm up to post #600!!. Inked cover to snake eyes #12. this was actually a layout that i proposed for gi joe #17 with se jumping into a pit of vipers and cobra troopers. i generally dont recycle cover ideas, but this seemed to fit just right changing up the setting and insert thugs.
