I wouldn't look that deeply into scootaloo's admiration for dash because of that one episode. keep in mind that the entirety of ponyville swooning over this foreign, unknown hero was the entire point of the episode, because the goal was to pop a huge hole in dash's ego blimp. Minor issues like those are pretty standard fare for s3 though imo, and it more than makes up for it by having a fantastic story, being the first proper scootaloo episode, giving us some good development, and i love the roadtrip and night time atmosphere.
