Those are my favorite applique tools. keep in mind, i’ve appliqued over 30 years and i amassed these over a period of years, not weeks. when i began appliqueing, all i used was a couple of marking tools, quilting thread, beeswax, good needles, applique thread and a pattern. don’t stress out about the tools. For folding fat quarters, i make folds in half in alternating directions, a pretty common way to fold. then i organize them by color, with solids being their own category on the right. for my yardage, i fold my fabric on a 6” ruler, and then fold the result in half lengthwise. this leaves it nice and long, taking advantage of the deep kallax.
