Jeep Liberty O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 Location Vehicle Re 2906 posts · joined 2013. #3 · feb 7, 2021. so after doing a lot of research, i found that bank 1 is the passenger side and bank 2 is the driver side. sensor 1 on each side is the top, up stream sensor. sensor 2 is the lower, down stream sensor. i tried removing the lower o2 sensor on the passenger side today and it is a royal pain. In this video, i replace the o2 sensor in my 2014 jeep wrangler sahara, with the 3.6 pentastart engine. this is the bank 1 sensor 2, located on the passenger.

Jeep Wrangler Bank 1 Sensor 2 Location Thanks for all the input. i assume the easiest way to get to bank 2 sensor #2(downstream) is to remove the wheel liner on drivers side first. then it looks like i should be able to see both bank 2 sensors #1 2 near the cat.! i plan on getting the loaner tool for autozone to help remove the o2 sensor(pb blaster and some heat too). Bank 1 is the front of the engine, sensor 2 is downstream. so the code is for a voltage problem in the front downstream o2 sensor. either it's not plugged in properly, it's damaged defective worn out, or something is wrong with its location position in the exhaust stream, causing a high voltage reading. this could also make the engine run lean. When installing new o2 sensors, be certain to use some anti seize on the threads of the new o2 sensors! this is important, and will save you a huge headache should you ever need to remove them in the future. in addition, a o2 sensor socket will greatly aide in the installation and removal of o2 sensors. The pre cat buldge closest to the firewall is bank 2, and has two o2 sensors as well. the one above the buldge is #1 and the one beneath it is #2. the sensor you are having the problem with is is located on bank 1 (exhaust pipe closest to the front) just below the pre cat bulge closest to the front of the vehicle.
