Ford Taurus Cooling Fan Ih8mud Forum Reports here on mud say that the taurus fan draws almost 100 amps when the high speed circuit kicks in and then settles down to a 30 amp draw. the delta contoller is reported to have a smoother start that doesn't draw as many amps at startup, but that adds another $100 to the cost of converting to an electric fan. In short; power to relay pin 85, relay pin 86 to probe, probe connects to ground at specified temperature, fan starts turning. edit: the probe in the diagram is a 2 wire probe (thermo switch) and is not connected to ground. rudi. last edited: mar 11, 2014.

After some prodding by 99grandtj i got around to installing my fan and i thought i would throw this up in case some one is looking for part #'s for a taurus fan install. the relays will eat you on the cost (~$55 for the 75 amp relay, and figure ~60 for the thermostatic switch) the fan is from a 92 taurus and was ~$45.

Yeah, taurus fans are all the rage in the mustang community. slim, fairly compact and do an awesome job of cooling. i went a different route on my setup with an '89 thunderbird supercoupe fan. does a superb job of cooling! $12.50 at pick n pull's half price day. evintho, jun 22, 2010. share post #3.
