Drape Cake Cakecentral Post #14 of 14. andi462 ~ i don't know of a tutorial but it's much simpler than even the tutorial of regular drapes. just roll the fondant super thin (if using white chocolate clay then knead together 1 2 clay & 1 2 fondant), gather it at one end, pick it up where it's gathered, an it will drape on its own. First, i don't believe you want to use tylose as that turns it into gumpaste and will dry very hard. i believe that you want to use fondant. i haven't done this myself as i've only draped 1 cake but it order to do a long drape, you will just need to roll it out longer in order for it to reach from the top to the bottom of the tiers that you want it to reach.

Pinch the top edges together, apply gum glue to the small piece and wrap around the pinched edge. attach the tassels to each corner with gum glue. attach 1 pearl or fondant ball to the top of each of the four tassels. paint the string around the middle of the cake, the pearls and the tassels with the paint mixture.
