If we could cut nero out of dmc4 and just play as dante all through the game, then yes, gameplay wise dmc4 is better. however, because dante is just playable through 1 5 of the game, it weakens the entire experience, imo. and because dante is playable throughout the entirity of dmc3, that game just feels tons better.
D0 B3 D1 83 D1 81 D1 82 D0 B0 D0 B2 D0 Ba D0 Even base 3 is better since it literally has more than double the enemy variety even if a few kinda suck. dmc4 is unfinished. that is basically a fact. dmc3, which has flaws, was a complete game at launch, with se and switch versions improving on a great game. so, this is a very common opinion. The characters also share the health and devil trigger bar upgrades (blue purple orbs), and the red orbs account and inventory (vital stars, etc). difficulty modes unlocked with one character (pair) are also unlocked for the others. the only thing that is not shared between characters is the mission progress within each difficulty. Yes, it gets better (gameplay wise) when you get to play with dante. story and puzzles wise dmc 4 is really weak on that department. it was a rushed game. dante should've gotten his own bosses and levels but had to go through the same as nero instead. “i was never that into dmc4 combo videos cause they all just look too easy and simple to pull off. intentionally landing on platforms in a dmc game is some next level shit however”.
